Adrian College Athletics Celebrating 2017 NCAA Division III Week, April 3-9

ADRIAN, Mich.--The Adrian College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be celebrating NCAA Division III Week today through Friday, April 9.

NCAA Division III Week is a positive opportunity for all individuals associated with Division III to observe and celebrate the impact of athletics and of student-athletes on the campus and surrounding community. During the week, every Division III school and conference office is encouraged to conduct a type of outreach activity that falls into one of three categories: academic accomplishment; athletic experience; or leadership/community service/campus involvement. 

The Bulldogs' schedule of events in honor of Division III Week includes:

Monday, April 3 - Kick Off Monday - Free skating at Arrington Ice Arena from 7-9 p.m. (Donation for Special Olympics will be requested.)

Tuesday, April 4 - Motivational Tuesday - Ritchie Dinner Special D3Night from 5-7 p.m.

Wednesday, April 5 - Ribbons Day - Support Students Presenting - All Day

Thursday, April 6 - #WhyD3 - Social media focus on Twitter, Facebook and/or Snapchat by Bulldog teams gauging their student-athletes' thoughts on why they decided to go the Division III route to pursue their education and athletic vocation.

Friday, April 7 - School Color Day. Students wearing their Adrian swag and show off your school colors to display what it means to be a Bulldog.

Saturday, April 8 - School Spirit Saturday

Sunday, April 9 - Special Olympics Sunday - Adrian College Special Olympics Soccer Tournament vs. Olivet starting at 3 p.m. in Docking Stadium.

In addition, Adrian will be hosting its 10th annual Field Day on Saturday, April 22, from noon to 4 p.m. at Docking Stadium and the Merillat Sports & Fitness Center. The event is free of charge and the public is encouraged to attend, and held in conjunction with NCAA Division III Week.

The day consists of fun, physical activities that promote healthy activities and good eating habits for children. The Adrian College Athletic Department and SAAC invite all students from Lenawee County school districts to join Bulldog student-athletes in a day of play and fun.

Lenawee students will get to interact with Bulldog student-athletes while playing fun games and staying physically active.
