FINDLAY, Ohio--The Adrian College equestrian team earned top marks for the morning and afternoon sessions as the reserve overall high-point team during the University of Findlay Western Stock Seat Show to begin the month of November.
"We were reserve to host Findlay both times. (But) they had 27 riders to our seven, so we were not very far behind them in points despite that lack of depth," said third-year Bulldogs coach Jody Prime. "We may be small, but we are mighty!"
Other Bulldog highlights:
- Sophomore transfer Rylee Burke was the reserve overall high-point rider for both competitions
- Juniors Morgan Langworthy and Alana Pastula both qualified to attend the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Regionals on March 2, also hosted by Findlay. (Sophomore teammate Vanessa Wandel was the first Bulldog who stamped her ticket to regionals earlier this season.)
- Saturday's qualification makes Pastula a double-qualifier to Regionals as she was already qualified for hunt seat.
- Senior Maddie Riggott, sophomores Rylee Burke, Michaela Carnevale, Skylar Scribner, and freshman Jennifer Saxton also competed in this event. Freshman Kaitlyn Alicz was absent since she is a dual-sport athlete who had a figure skating competition.
