ADRIAN, Mich.--Adrian's Brad Kobryn scored four times on Thursday night as the #2 ranked Adrian College ACHA Division 1 men's hockey squad erupted for the game's final eleven goals to easily get passed Rochester 12-1 at Arrington Ice Arena.
The win was the Bulldog 11th in a row to start the season.
Kobryn gave Adrian the early lead with his first goal coming just 1:11 into the game, but the Warriors hung tough the rest of the period, and scored the equalizer on a goal by Zach Bourcier with 6:20 remaining in the period to knot the score at 1-1 after twenty minutes.
The four-goal performance pushes Kobryn's season goal total to 15 and moves him into second place nationally behind Evan Krueger of John Carroll University who has 17 goals on the year.
The final two periods were all Bulldogs, however, as Adrian would run off five straight 2nd period goals and add another six in the third to turn the game into a rout. The second period saw Kobryn pick up his second goal, while Mike Finger would score twice, while Dominic Moore and Mike Trater would add singletons for the Bulldogs.
Things got no better for the Warriors in the third period, as Adrian continued to pressure the Rochester net, with Kobryn adding goals three and four, Matt Matyi scoring his first goal as a Bulldog and three more single goals came from Justin Fisher, Austin Kuhn and Kyle Perkowski.
Adrian outshot Rochester by an impressive 47-17 count, as Rochester goaltender Ryan Kostelnik made 35 saves. Austin Roudebush had a much easier time in the Bulldog net, earning his sixth win while turning away 16 Warrior shots.
