ANGOLA, Ind. - The Adrian College men's and women's track and field team began its indoor season at the Keith Turner Alumni Invitational hosted by Trine University. The women finished in second place with 106 team points; the men were third with 74 points.
Rayona Hart-Wilson totaled 16 points toward her team's total. She finished second in the long jump with a best jump of 4.94m to earn eight points. She finished fifth in both the 60-meter dash (8.47) and the 300 meter (46.51) for a total of four points each.
Dakota Morgan won the 60-meter dash finals with a time of 8.20 to earn 10 points toward the team's total.
The 4x400 women's relay team finished second with a time of 4:15.17 for eight points.
The women's team finished the day with six top-three finishes.
On the men's side, Idris Daranijoh was the men's top scorer, using three top-five finishes to total 17 points toward his team's total. He finished second in the long jump with a best jump of 6.51m to total eight points. He was fourth in the high jump (1.80m) for five points, and fifth in the 60m hurdles (9.18) for four points.
Jordan Davis won the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.49 for 10 points and finished third in the high jump (1.90m) for six points.
The Bulldogs had the four top-jumpers in the high jump event with Dazmond Lawrence winning with a 1.95m jump for another 10 points, John Hamilton finishing second with 1.95m, Davis (3rd), and Daranijoh (4th).
The men also had six top-three finishes on the day.
The teams will compete in the Defiance College Invitational next Saturday, January 27.
