FREELAND, MICH. -- Adrian College women's track and field freshmen Britney Carnagie and Taylor Sinclair were named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
Britney Carnagie improved by almost four meters on her school record in the javelin throw--a record that stood for 20 years--that she broke last week. The freshman thrower won the javelin throw event with her record-improving throw of 42.31 meters.
Taylor Sinclair set personal best times in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash. She was the top NCAA Division III finisher in both events, placing seventh in the 100m with a time of 12.54 seconds and 18th in the 200m with a time of 26.55 ticks.
This is the first athlete of the week selection for both athletes and is also the first weekly award for the AC women's track and field team of the 2018 outdoor season.
Both Carnagie and Sinclair will look to lead the Bulldogs at the MIAA Field Day meet, hosted by Adrian College.
