Another Record Falls for Indoor Track and Field

MARION, Ind. – The Adrian College track and field team saw another record fall at the Midwest Classic hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University on Saturday, Feb. 2.

Senior Rayona Hart-Wilson set a new women's indoor record for the long jump with her jump of 17'5.25", beating the previous record of 17'4.25" set last year.

On the men's side, sophomore jumper Nicholas Jackson came out on top in the high jump with a height of 6'7.5". Sophomore Donovan Ervin and freshman Derek Plitt finished second and third in the 200-meter sprint, and hurdlers Denzel Tinsley and Jordan Davis also finished 2-3 in the 60-meter hurdles, with the sophomore Tinsley setting a new PR with a time of 8.25.

The Bulldogs will split their squad for a pair of meets next weekend. Part of the squad will head back to Defiance College for the Dick Small Invitational on Friday, Feb. 8. The rest of the team will travel to Wisconsin for the Midwest Invitational hosted by Wisconsin-Whitewater which will be one of the toughest meets of the season so far.
