NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the All-Region honorees for the 2019 indoor track and field season this week. Four Bulldogs were named All-Region, with two athletes picking up the award in two different events. To qualify for the honor, athletes had to be in the top five of their region, with Adrian competing in the Great Lakes region.
Seniors Randy Fry and Jordan Davis earned All-Region honors in two events, sharing a common event in the 200-meter. Davis also took home the award in the 60-meter hurdles while Fry picked up his second in the 60-meter dash. Joining the sprinters were a pair of sophomore high jumpers, Nicholas Jackson and Daz Lawrence.
Fry heads into the NCAA Championships tied for the fastest time in the Great Lakes Region in the 60-meter, and the fastest time by himself in the 200-meter. Davis is tied for fifth in the 200-meter, and is third in the 60-meter hurdles, which is also his seed for the NCAA Championships. Jackson finished with the second-best height in the high jump in the region, while Lawrence was fifth.
Fry, Davis and Jackson will be joined by sophomore Denzel Tinsley at the National Championships. Fry will run the 60 and 200-meter dashes, Davis and Tinsley the 60-meter hurdles, and Jackson will be high jumping. The action in Boston, Mass. starts tomorrow, Friday, March 8 and concludes on Saturday.
