Dan Heatherly had a RBI infield single earlier in the inning to cut the lead to 3-2.

Alma got one run back in the third but the Bulldogs kept adding one run in the fourth, fifth and seventh to keep Alma at arms' length. Fischer had a RBI groundout in the fourth, Sergi had a sacrifice fly in the fifth and Adrian scored on a throwing error off a stolen base play in the seventh.
