Second Baseman Brian Killinger Accorded MIAA Player of the Week

FREELAND, Mich.--The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association on Monday named Adrian College senior second baseman Brian Killinger (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Northview High School) the MIAA Player of the Week, for the period ending Sunday.

This marks the athletic training major's second career MIAA weekly award; May 2, 2016, was the other.

During a four-game sweep with conference opponent Albion, Killinger led the Bulldogs with a slashline of .643/.684/.714. He scored five runs, had three runs batted in, four stolen bases and walked four times. He also was perfect in the field out of 15 total chances and helped turn three double plays.

On the season, Killinger is ranked fourth in the MIAA with a .422 batting average--over 100 points better than his previous single-season best. He also leads the conference with seven sacrifice bunts and is third with a .510 on-base percentage.
