BLOOMINGTON, Minn.--Adrian College senior second baseman Brian Killinger (Grand Rapids, Mich./ Northview High School) is the lone Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association representative on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week, which was released late Monday by the website.
This marks Killinger's third career #D3b honor, joining March 21 of this year and May 3, 2016.
The athletic training major produced a .563/.588/.813 slashline and led Adrian with seven runs batted in to help the Bulldogs claim their ninth MIAA championship in a row, capping a 4-0 week. He also scored six times, had three sacrifice bunts and was perfect in the field on 15 total chances.
The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, honoring performers at each position from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the twelfth Team of the Week of the 2017 season.
In other Adrian Baseball news, the Bulldogs received 28 votes in the latest D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 25 poll. If the rankings were extrapolated beyond the top-25, AC is ranked 29th nationally.
Adrian takes a 28-8 overall record, including 21-3 in the MIAA, into the final weekend of the regular-season. The Bulldogs travel to Holland on Friday (2/4:30 p.m.; G1 Live stats, G2 Live stats) to take on Hope College before the Flying Dutchmen come to Adrian's Nicolay Field the following day (1/3:30 p.m.; G1 Live stats, G2 Live stats). It will be Adrian's Senior Day on Saturday.
