FREELAND, Mich.--Commissioner Penny Allen-Cook Sunday announced the 2017 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Baseball Tournament schedule, with 12-time champion Adrian College serving as the No. 1 seed and host for the fifth time in six years that the event has been in existence.
Adrian set a conference record with its ninth consecutive baseball championship, finishing with a 23-5 MIAA slate and winning by three games. The Bulldogs have also reached their 10th 30-win campaign in a row at 30-10.
Adrian will play fourth-seeded Calvin College (19-21 overall, 13-15 MIAA) in Game 1 on Wednesday at Nicolay, starting at 6 p.m. (originally scheduled for 4 p.m.) Defending tournament champion Kalamazoo College will host Hope College in a No. 2-3 seed, Game 2 matchup on the same day at 4 p.m.
Beginning Thursday, the remainder of the three-day tournament shifts to Adrian.
