@AdrianBaseball 2017 Summer Update

ADRIAN, Mich.--The Adrian College baseball team is just two months removed from capturing a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association-record ninth straight conference championship in a record-setting campaign, but several Bulldogs are already back at work on the diamond across the nation and in Canada competing for summer league teams. 

The following is a sample list of Adrian players and their summer league teams, sorted by league:

Mid-Atlantic Collegiate League (MACL)

  • Tristin Richardson, Chesterfield Vipers, .400 on-base percentage
  • Brady Wood, Chesterfield Vipers, .454 batting average
  • Gunner Rainey, Chesterfield Vipers, .445 batting average 

Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL)

  • Jordan Torrento, Adirondack Trailblazers, .319 on-base percentage
  • Dugan Darnell, Adirondack Trailblazers, .445 on-base percentage  
  • Zack Zschering, Adirondack Trail Blazers, .286 batting average

Western Major Baseball League (WMBL)

  • Jesse Marks, Moose Jaw Miller Express, 17 innings pitched

Northwoods League (NL)

  • Tommy Parsons, Battle Creek Bombers, 3-1 record with 1.22 earned-run average

Livonia Collegiate Baseball Summer League (LCBSL)

  • Aaron Ajrouche, Midwest Cubs

Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League (GLSCL)

  • Brian Guck, Cincinnati Steam 

Adrian also won the MIAA postseason tournament to clinch its 11th trip to the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship. The team finished with a 34-13 overall record for its 10th-consecutive 30-win season for two more conference benchmarks. The 2017 club ranked highly in a plethora of NCAA statistical rankings, produced three All-Americans and set scores of individual and team records.
