PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.--With a strong pitching performance in relief by freshman Jordan Williams, Adrian College wrapped up the 2018 Snowbird Collegiate Baseball Classic on Sunday with a 5-4 non-conference victory over nationally-ranked North Central College (Ill.). More details to come later....

= Mike Wisz paced NCC's 12-hit offense with three hits.
= Jeremy Quade, Robert Zebrauskas and John Carmody added two hits apiece, with Quade driving in two runs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= Adrian drew first blood in the top of the second inning but NCC countered with two runs in the bottom half.
= The Bulldogs took the lead for good with three runs in the next frame.
= Adrian added an insurance tally in the seventh.
= The Cardinals tried to rally with two runs in the bottom of the ninth.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Adrian has defeated a Top-5 team twice in as many seasons as the Bulldogs downed third-ranked Birmingham-Southern, 3-2, on the road on March 2 of last year.
= Adrian opens its nine-time title defense of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship on Saturday when the Bulldogs have their home opener at Nicolay Field against Alma College. The doubleheader starts at 1 p.m.
