Sam Colbert Snags First Career MIAA Player of the Week

FREELAND, Mich. - Adrian College freshman Sam Colbert was announced as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) men's basketball player of the week by the league office on Monday. 

The Indianapolis, Indiana native was 10-21 (47.6%) from the floor and 8-15 (53.3%) from behind the arc to help the Bulldog achieve two wins over conference opponents and remained tied at the top of the conference standings.

Colbert was 4-9 from the floor and 3-7 from three for 11 points in a 67-62 win over Albion. He followed up that performance with a 6-12 and 5-8 for three for a career-high 19 points in the  70-67 win over Trine.

This is Colbert's first MIAA player of the week honor and the third selection for the Adrian College men's basketball team this season.

Adrian will play both Hope and Olivet on the road this week. The Bulldogs will travel to Hope (7-3 MIAA) on Wednesday, February 7 and Olivet (7-3 MIAA) on Saturday, February 10. Wednesday's game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m., ET, tip-off; Saturday's is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m., ET.
