ADRIAN, Mich.--Former Adrian College men's basketball assistant coach Isaac Loechle has been named the director of operations with the IUPUI men's basketball program, as announced by Bulldogs head coach Kyle Lindsay.
Loechle joined the Bulldogs program along with Coach Lindsay in 2016. In his first season at Adrian, Loechle assisted in the development of All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association selection Justin Webster. In Year 2, he assisted in one of the best won-lost turnarounds in Adrian College history, going from 7-18 to 17-9 for a third-place finish in the 2018 MIAA standings as the Bulldogs made a conference tournament appearance for the first time in five years. Adrian opened the year 13-2 for the best start in program history, including a win over No. 3 Wisconsin-Whitewater. Adrian achieved a No. 8 regional ranking while also receiving votes for the D3hoops.com Top 25 national poll. He also served as academic coordinator, helping the Bulldogs to three consecutive semesters with a team grade-point average of 3.0 or better.
"I would like to thank Coach Loechle on behalf of the entire Adrian men's basketball program for his efforts and the impact he had on the success of our student athletes over the past two years," Lindsay said. "Coach Loechle is an incredibly talented coach and possesses a tremendous work ethic. He will be deeply missed by all of us here at Adrian College."
A national search is currently under way for Loechle's successor.
Adrian opens its season Nov. 10 at home against Defiance College.
