COLUMBUS, Ohio. – The Adrian College men's basketball team dropped a game on the road to Capital, 79-67 on Wednesday, Nov. 28.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Capital jumped out to an early lead and didn't look back. The Crusaders were up by double digits eight minutes into the first half and never led by less than six after that in the opening 20 minutes. They would take a nine-point advantage into the break with the score 32-23. Capital continued to extend its lead early in the second half, but Adrian kept fighting to keep it close. Both teams would put up 40 points in the second half but it wasn't enough for the Bulldogs, as the Crusaders went on to win 79-67.
Despite the loss, Adrian outshot Capital, connecting on 28 of 61 shots for a 45.9% while Capital only shot 42.9% (27-63). The difference in the game was rebounding and free throws. The Bulldogs were outrebounded 50-32 in the game and only shot 21.4% from the charity stripe, going 3-14. Capital made 15 of its 25 free throw attempts, with the 12-make difference being the difference in the final scores.
• Junior forward Jeremy Kalonji led the Bulldogs with 20 points, his second 20-point effort on the year.
• Junior guard Tre'Shon Heard sniffed a double-double, finishing with 18 points and leading the team with nine rebounds. Heard also led the team from beyond the arc, connect on four deep balls.
• Joey Weingartner led Capital with 32 points, 27 of which coming from three-point land.
• Caleb Cox finished with nine boards for the Crusaders.
The Bulldogs return home to host Case Western Reserve to open play in December. The Spartans come to town on Tuesday, Dec. 4 for a 7 p.m. tip.
