Bulldogs Men's Bowling Starts 2017 at Buckeye Baker Challenge in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio--The Adrian College men's bowling team started the New Year at the Ohio State University Buckeye Baker Challenge held at HP Lanes over the weekend.

The Bulldogs were ninth out of 11 teams with a 6,248-pin total, just missing one spot out of match-play. Wright State (7,126) won the event and the host Buckeyes were seventh (6,377).

The junior varsity squad also competed at the tournament.

"I thought it was still a good weekend for our guys because they had to bowl through some hard shots," said Adrian head coach John Essenmacher III, "and everyone was able to bowl and get some good experience."

Next up, Adrian will be at the ISBPA/Kegel Midwest Collegiate Classic in Addison, Ill., in the Stardust Bowl on Jan. 21-22. Saturday's competition is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., followed by Sunday's action at 1:30 p.m.
