Wheaton, Ill. – The Bulldog football team was shut out by Wheaton 49-0 on Saturday putting the regular season record to 1-1. Wheaton came into the game ranked seventh in the nation.
The Thunder defense slowed down the Bulldog rushing attack allowing only 53 yards for the entire game. Sophomore running back Emmanuel Stewart was neutralized running for only 29 yards on 12 carries for an average of 2.4 yards per carry.
Junior quarterback Stephen Milarch struggled against Wheaton as well passing for 77 yards and throwing three interceptions.
One bright spot for the Bulldogs was senior linebacker John Carlin, who had an impressive game defensively despite the score. He had ten tackles, an interception and a forced fumble on the day.
The Bulldogs return home and host Benedictine for this year's homecoming game on September 19. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
