FREELAND, Mich.--Adrian College freshman linebacker Chris Adams (St. Petersburg, Fla./Gibbs High School) has been tabbed the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday. This marks his first such weekly award.
Adams had career highs of five solo and team-best eight total tackles in a 30-12 win at Wisconsin Lutheran. He also had two interceptions, including one return for 53 yards to score Adrian's first touchdown for a 10-0 second quarter lead, and broke up another pass. Two of his tackles went for a total of 8 yards lost, as the Bulldogs limited WLC to only 239 yards of total offense and the defense forced four turnovers.
