Springfield, Mo. - Entering the final game of round-robin play, the Bulldogs Gold Club hockey team (2-0) needed a win against the University of Mississippi (1-1) to solidify a spot in the semifinal round of the ACHA Division III National Tournament. The Bulldogs dismantled their opponent by a 9-0 score.

Adrian goaltender Garrett Knappe registered his second shutout in the past three days and only allowed one goal in three contests in registering 76 saves to give Adrian a 3-0 record heading into tomorrow's semifinal round.

Adrian's Cole Kapovich scored what proved to be the game winner on a breakaway with under five minutes remaining in the first period. Before the period ended, the Bulldogs added two more goals by Anthony Rossi and Nick Hurite.

All four Adrian lines figured into the second period scoring as Edward Schaeffer, Doug Raymond and Hurite each added a goal, while Nicholas Reuter added a pair.

Taking an 8-0 lead into the 3rd period, Hurite capped off the hat-trick to make the final score 9-0.

The winner of Pool A Bulldogs will now face the winner of Pool B Hope College in a semifinal matchup tomorrow at 12:30 (CST). All four semifinal teams emerged from the North Region. As of the ACHA's last rankings, Davenport led the region followed by Hope, Adrian and Michigan-Flint, respectively. If Adrian wins tomorrow they will then face the winner of the Davenport and Michigan-Flint semifinal on Saturday at 1 p.m. (CST) and attempt to repeat as Division III National Champions.
