Hoy now advances to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration as that award will be announced June 6.

The CoSIDA at-large program comprises 12 men's Olympic-style sports. Hoy and nine other student-athletes were voted to the District 6 team by sports information directors from institutions based in Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The only Northern Collegiate Hockey Association student-athlete on the CoSIDA Academic All-District ® VI Team, Hoy is a member of five national honor societies. On the ice this season, he contributed a goal and had nine assists for 10 total points from his defensive position in 28 games played. He notched eight points in conference-play only. He helped the Bulldogs (20-7-2 overall) to a Peters Cup regular-season three-peat with a 17-3 NCHA record, the program's seventh NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championship appearance, No. 4 year-end national ranking and third-place national finish. Hoy was the 2017 runner-up for the Elite 90 in men's hockey, tabulating the second-best overall GPA at the finals site. He was a member of the 2014 All-NCHA Freshman Team.
