NCHA Weekly Release for Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018

DULUTH, Minn.--Adrian College men's hockey junior forward Dino Balsamo (Sterling Heights, Mich./Stevenson High School/Aston Rebels, NAHL) is the initial Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Player of the Week, helping the Bulldogs sweep Utica College on the Pioneers' home ice to open the 2017-18 campaign. This signals his first NCHA weekly award.

In a weekend matchup of nationally-ranked teams, Adrian defeated then-No. 6/7 and preseason United Collegiate Hockey Conference favorite Utica by scores of 3-1 on Friday and 3-2 on Saturday.

Balsamo led Adrian with four points, which was a league-high over the opening weekend, on a goal and three assists in Adrian's impressive road sweep. He assisted on the tying goal at 1-1 on the way to a two-goal victory in the opener and also assisted on the go-ahead goal the next night. In all, he posted nine shots on goal and was a +3.

The sports management major has 15 goals and 28 assists for 43 total points in his 46-game career with Adrian, after transferring from NCAA Division I Bentley University during the 2016-17 season when he had 2+1=3 scoring totals with the Falcons.
