Bulldogs Blitz Comets in MIAA Men's Tennis on the Road, 9-0

BATTLE CREEK, Mich.--The visiting Adrian College men's tennis team made quick work of Olivet College, 9-0, in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play at the Minges Creek Athletic Club on Sunday.

The Bulldogs' lineup of seniors Jon Rhind, Jeff Sophiea, sophomores Nathan Waterbury, Kyle Haines, Tanner Wilcox and freshman Ronald Ducharme all produced two wins apiece. Waterbury and Rhind did not drop a game at Nos. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.

Sophiea won his No. 1 singles match over Zachary Croze in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 10-6.

Adrian improves to 5-7 overall and 2-1 in the MIAA, while Olivet falls to 2-10 on the season and 0-4 in the league.

The Bulldogs play MIAA opponents Trine and Alma on the road back-to-back days on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. Start times are 4 p.m. both afternoons.
