Four Adrian Men's Volleyball Players Named MCVL All-Academic

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Eduardo Aleman (So., Chicago, Ill.), Avery Johnson (Jr., Bolingbrook, Ill.), Daniel Contreras (Fr., North Las Vegas, N.V.), and Michael Burkhardt (So., Whitehall, Pa.) were among the 98 student-athletes that were named to the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) 2016-17 All-Academic Team as announced by the league office on Thursday (July 6). 

Aleman finished the 2017 season fourth on the team in kills (134) and was one of two teammates on the all-academic team that played in all 25 Adrian College matches this season.

Johnson was third on the team in kills (173) and total blocks (28). He played in 23 matches during the 2016-17 campaign.

Contreras tied for a season-high 174 digs. He participated in 23 matches during his first season as a Bulldog.

Burkhardt was the other man on the roster to play in all 25 matches during the season. He finished the season. He led the team in total blocks (46), block assists (36) and solo blocks (10). 

To be eligible for Academic All-MCVL selection, student-athletes must be letter winners who carry a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 for the academic year. Seven student-athletes in the MCVL obtained a perfect GPA. Dominican (Ill.) led all member schools with 15 all-academic selections.
