CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Adrian College men's volleyball junior Kevin Curley was named the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League's (MCVL) Defensive Player of the Week last week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Curley has been the anchor of Adrian's defense, and he earned the award by picking up 31 digs in last week's doubleheader against Goshen. He now has 209 digs on the year, and reached the 500 mark for his career earlier this season against Siena Heights. Curley's 3.48 digs per set not only put him best in the conference, but he's also fourth in the nation. He's a large part of Adrian's defense as a team being ranked second in the nation at 12.28 digs per set, trailing only MCVL-rival Fontbonne.
Adrian is back in action this weekend in Thousand Oaks, Calif. for the Cal-Lu-Fornia Invitational, hosted by California Lutheran. The Bulldogs will play five matches over three days, starting with host Cal Lutheran Thursday, March 7 at 10 p.m. ET.
