NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind.--The Adrian College men's wrestling team had one of its best outings of the season on Saturday by winning two weight classes among nine placers at the 2018 Mid-States Conference Tournament, which featured 10 schools in Stauffer-Wolfe Arena. The Bulldogs collected 146 points to finish in third place behind only nationally-ranked teams Wabash (330 points) and Olivet (194) colleges. 

Sophomore Dylan Steward and senior co-captain Zach Rieger led the way for Adrian with championships at 157 and 285 pounds, respectively. In addition, junior James Renaud came in third at 141; freshman Bryant Moore claimed fourth at 165; junior co-captain Dominic Paterra was fifth at 133; freshmen Noah Nieman and Jake Burns placed fifth at 149 and 197, respectively; and classmates Garrett Gelinski (149), Michael Jacobs (174) were seventh in their respective events.

Tournament host Manchester University came in fourth with 135.5 points.

Adrian hits the mat again on Friday (11 a.m.) and Saturday (10 a.m.), Feb. 23-24, for the NCAA Division III Central Regional Championships to be held at the Knowling Fieldhouse on the Wabash College campus in Crawfordsville, Ind.
