LEXINGTON, Ky. – On a neutral court both offenses were right on target on Saturday as the women's basketball team claimed a 92-86 win over Hanover on the campus of Transylvania University in the Bluegrass State. Adrian (1-1) shook off last night's loss to the host Pioneers and scored the most points in a game since November 18, 2006 in a 96-44 win over Rochester.
Senior LaQwana Dockery concluded the classic with two of the top performances in her career. A day after scoring a career-high 27 points, she scored 22 points and tallied a double-double with 12 rebounds. Dockery went 7-for-12 from the field and 8-for-9 at the foul line. Senior Lauren Rhoads pumped in a career-high 22 points going 7-for-12 from the field and 6-for-6 at the foul line. Adrian cleaned up on the glass with a 48-38 edge including 15 offensive rebounds. Senior Amy Van Gessel scored 12 points and grabbed seven boards in 29 minutes. Adrian won the game at the foul line going 26-for-29 including 16-for-17 in the second half.
