ADRIAN, Mich.--The Adrian College women's basketball team hung around with nationally-ranked and defending Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association champion Trine University for the first half, but the Thunder used their depth in the second half to pull away from the Bulldogs for a 65-29 victory on Wednesday evening.

= Kubik also grabbed seven rebounds to lead all student-athletes.
= Freshman Rachel Bucher came off the bench and grabbed six rebounds.
= Sophomore Angelina Goosby also hauled in six boards.
= Hayley Martin led all scorers with 14 points on 5-for-8 from the floor, as well as recording six rebounds and blocking five shots.
= Ashley Elliott scored eight points off the Thunder bench.
= Camille Lira and Katy Steers led Trine in assists with four each.
= Brandi Dawson matched Martin for the team lead with six rebounds. She also reached double digits with 10 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= The Thunder never trailed, limiting themselves to just four turnovers for a season low.
= Despite Trine pulling away in the second half, Adrian kept the game close in the first half trailing by just six after one quarter, 15-9, and 11 at the half, 28-17.
= Trine shared the ball effectively, evidenced by 17 assists on 24 made baskets.
= Adrian cut into the Thunder lead to 23-17 with 2 minutes and 55 seconds to go in the second quarter on a Morris 3-point shot before Trine finished the first half on a 5-0 run.
= Trine pulled away to start the second half by going on a 12-2 scoring run, taking control by a 40-19 score at the 3:13 mark of the third quarter. Haley scored eight points to spark that spurt.
= The Thunder took advantage of the Bulldogs' miscues by scoring 26 points on those 18 turnovers. Trine also outscored Adrian 18-5 on second-chance points with a 38-32 rebounding advantage.
= Trine shot 42.9 percent from the field (24-56) while holding Adrian to a season-low 24.4 clip (11-45).
= The Thunder bench prevailed 28-8.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Trine remains tied with Calvin for second place in the MIAA standings--both right behind conference leader Hope (6-0)--improving its conference record to 5-1.
= The Bulldogs still lead the all-time series, 17-14, as the Thunder have won the last three meetings.
