Women's Bowling Opens 2018-19 Campaign with Fifth-Place Showing at RC Warrior Classic

TROY, Mich.--The Adrian College women's bowling team began the 2018-19 season on Saturday at the Rochester College Warrior Fall Classic at Bowl One Lanes, ending up fifth in the 13-team event with 6,034 pins.

Senior Marissa Land paced the Bulldogs with a second-place finish, knocking down 832 pins in four games to earn all-tournament honors. Three others were in the top-30: freshman Kylie Middleton (777, 7th place); junior Jordyn Stone (771, 8th); and classmate Kayla Clark (678, 27th). The rest of the lineup was Emily Moharter, Nicole Discenna, Lyndsey Spillers and Erica Jones.

The Bulldogs took the challenge against 12 other teams, finishing ahead of notable programs from Spring Arbor, Cornerstone, Saginaw Valley State, Indiana State and Madonna universities. The top three teams included Bowling Green State (6,880), Judson (6,183) and Concordia--Ann Arbor universities (6,165).

The next tournament will be the UPIKE Orange and Black Classic, taking place on October 13-14 on Saturday and Sunday. It is being hosted in Kettering, Ohio (Poelking Lanes) by the University of Pikeville.
