Women's Hockey Improves to 2-1 in Conference Play With a 5-1 Win at Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. - The Adrian College women's hockey team defeated Trine 5-1 on Friday night. Olivia Fox, Shelly Czarnowczan, and Sydney Daversa each scored a goal and dished an assist in the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Bulldogs struck early when Tory Harshman (Owen Sound, Ontario) scored on an Adrian power play just 1:50 into the opening period. She was assisted on the play by Brooke Schembri (Canton, Mich.) and Jacqueline White (Royal Oak, Mich.).

Senior Olivia Fox (Massillon, Ohio) scored off assists from Maggie Mitter (Howell, Mich.) and Shelly Czarnowczan (Shelby Twp., Mich.) to give the Bulldogs the 2-0 cushion.

The 2-0 Adrian lead held all through the first period. The Bulldogs tallied a total of 20 shots on goal in the period; the Thunder totaled three shots on goal in the first.

Trine's Kailey Cameron scored in the ninth minute of the second period to cut the Adrian lead to one goal. Emily Moore and Sula Argyris assisted on the play.

Sydney Daversa put the Bulldogs ahead by two goals at 10:10. Olivia Fox scored her second point of the game assisting on the play. Brianna Buchanan tallied her first assist of the season on the goal.

Shelly Czarnowczan notched a goal 20 seconds later tallying her second point of the night. Neysa Miller (Williamston, Mich.) and assistant captain Hannah Dalrymple (Ellie, Manitoba) assisted on the score.

Rose Krasofsky (Plymouth, Mich.) was assisted by Sydney Daversa on the final Adrian goal at the 16:20 of the third period.

The Bulldogs outshot the Thunder 58-14 in the game. Adrian scored once on the team's three power-play opportunities. Trine was 1-for-5 on the power play.

TOP DOGS

Savannah Veri (Northville, Mich.) and Sydney Daversa led Adrian with seven shots on goal. Daversa scored once and dished an assist for a point total of two.

• Harshman, Fox, Krasofsky, and Czarnowczan each tallied a goal in the winning effort.

• Dalrymple, Buchanan, Mitter, Schembri, Fox, White, Czarnowczan, Miller, and Daversa all created scoring chances with assists.

Mia Glassco (W, 1-0-0) saved 13 of the 14 shots she faced in the game.

THE OPPOSITION

• Kailey Cameron was the lone goal scorer for the Thunder.

• Argyris and Moore each had an assist.

• Molly Scarborough (L, 1-1-0) saved 53 of the 58 shots she faced in the contest.
