Bulldogs Sweep Lions With a 7-0 Win on Senior Day

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's hockey team earned a 7-0 victory over Finlandia on Senior Day at Arrington Ice Arena, completing the sweep of the Lions. Kristi Zink led the three Bulldog seniors with two assists in the game.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED

Senior Olivia Fox gave Adrian the 1-0 lead 5:09 into the first period when she scored off a shot from teammate Maggie Mitter that rebounded off the Lion goalie. Kelly O'Sullivan tallied the secondary assist on the play. The final goal of the period was put in by Mitter off assists from Neysa Miller and Anna Shepherd to increase the Bulldog lead to two.

Adrian scored three goals in the second to extend its lead to 5-0 through the final intermission. Hannah Dalrymple scored her second goal of the season 7:23 into the second period that pushed the Bulldog lead to three. Savannah Veri lit the lamp 1:03 later to put Adrian up 4-0. Tory Harshman finished off the second period scoring on a Bulldog power play at 14:01 when she scored on a slap shot from the blue line.

Sydney Daversa and Jacqueline White added two more goals to Adrian's total in the third. Daversa's goal was tallied at 12:26 of the period off assists from Brooke Schembri and Abbie Grias. White's goal came 1:19 later off assists from Harshman and senior Rose Krasofsky.

The Bulldogs finished the game with a 52-14 advantage in shots on goal and scored twice in six power-play chances. 

TOP DOGS

Jacqueline White was the team's leading scorer with three points (1G, 2A).

• Zink tallied three shots on goal to her stat total.

• Seniors Olivia Fox (1G) and Rose Krasofsky (1A) each tallied a point in their final regular season home game.

• Harshman (1G, 1A) and Maggie Mitter (1G, 1A) each contributed two points with a goal and an assist. 

Kate Turner (W, 16-5-1) recorded her eighth shutout of the season in the win.

THE OPPOSITION

• Sierra Meiners led the Lions with four shots on goal.

• Kylee Dyni, Hannah Tormanen, and Bella Abear each had two shots on goal.

• Annah Smiddy (L, 3-16-1) saved 27 of the 32 shots she faced.

NCHA STANDINGS

 With the win today, the Bulldogs reclaim the top spot in the standings with 29 points. The Bulldogs are currently one point ahead of St. Scholastica with two games remaining this season.

UP NEXT

 Adrian will wrap up the regular season on the road in a weekend series against Marian on Friday and Saturday, February 16-17. Friday's game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., ET.
