ADRIAN, Mich. – The Bulldogs took on Kalamazoo College Wednesday evening and Adrian swept the double header from the Hornets. The Bulldogs took game one, 4-1 and game two 9-1 as they advanced their record to 13-9, 3-5.
Game one saw Bulldogs take a 4-0 lead after three innings as scored one run in each of the first and third innings and scored twice in the second. Karissa DeVore doubled in Jessica Sarch in the first, and Katie Dewyre singled up the middle in the second to score Chelsea Shellman and Kim D'Arcangelo. The Bulldogs then capped their scoring in the third as D'Arcangelo singled to score Kaitlyn Hinojosa. The Hornets scored once in the fifth inning but the Bulldogs controlled the game to a 4-1 victory.
Jessica Sarch went 1-3 with a run scored. Katie Dewyre went 1-3 with two RBI. Kim D'Arcangelo went 1-2 with an RBI and a run scored.
Game two was highlighted by Kelsey Meyer (5-4) as she pitched the complete game, allowed one run on two hits and struck out six. Meyer led the Bulldogs to a commanding 9-1 win over the Hornets in five innings.
Adrian scored twice in each of the second and fourth innings while they put up five runs in the third to take over the game. K'ya Toles-Burton led the Bulldog charge as she went 3-3 with five RBI and three runs scored with two home runs. Karissa DeVore went 2-3 with two runs scored and Jessica Sarch went 2-3 with three RBI.
The Bulldogs will see action again tomorrow, April 17 when they travel to Olivet College for a double header slated to start at 3:30 p.m.
