ADRIAN, Mich. – The Bulldogs finished their 2014 campaign with a double header at Albion College. Adrian finished their season on a high note as they swept the Britons 14-0 and 3-1. Adrian finished 2014 with an overall record of 17-15 and an MIAA record of 7-9.
Game one saw the Bulldogs come alive with their bats as they scored 14 runs and totaled 18 hits. Adrian started quickly as they scored three runs in the first followed by one run in the second. The Bulldogs then capped their win with five runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings as they cruised to a 14-0 win in five innings.
Brooke Stewart (4-4) earned the victory as she pitched the complete, allowed only one hit and struck out seven.
Game two was highlighted by a close game that was decided by only two runs. The Britons started the scoring by putting one run across the plate in the top of the first. Adrian then responded as they tied the game in the bottom of the second as Ravin Toner hit a sacrifice fly to center field that score Rebecca Greco. The teams remained tied until the fifth inning when the Bulldogs scored twice to take the lead for good. Karissa DeVore hit a two-run home run to center field that scored Katie Dewyre. The Bulldogs would carry this momentum to a 3-1 victory and a sweep of the Britons.
Kelsey Meyer (7-7) made the start and earned the victory on the mound for Adrian as she pitched six innnigs and struck out six batters. Kaitlin Lock (1) earned the save as she pitched one scoreless inning and did not allow a hit.
Kaitlin Schneider went 3-4. Kaite Dewyre went 1-3 with a run scored. Karissa DeVore went 1-2 with a home run, a run scored and two RBI.
