NAIA-Scholarship Huntington (Ind.) Too Much for Women's Tennis

ADRIAN, Mich.--The visiting Huntington (Ind.) University women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0, non-conference victory Wednesday over Adrian College at the Craft Tennis Complex. The Foresters improve to 7-2 overall, including 2-0 against NCAA Division III foes, while all three of the Bulldogs' (0-3) losses have come at the hands of NAIA-scholarship programs.

Senior Olivia Neumann led Adrian by taking four games in a No. 3 singles loss to Lanae Singleton, 6-1 and 6-3. In No. 3 doubles, sophomores Samantha Cyrus/Julia Maltbie gave Anastasiia Evstifeev/Charlotte Seth a run in an 8-5 defeat.

Constanze Goelz paced the visitors with two points won at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles with Meg Dolde (she also won at No. 2 singles).

These teams were originally set to meet on Sep. 7, but the threat of wet weather forced the postponement until this afternoon.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to wrap up their fall schedule on Sunday, Sep. 24, against Holy Cross College of Indiana. The non-conference home match is slated to start at noon right here.
