Women's Tennis Drops Final Match in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Adrian College women's team dropped its final match of spring break in an 8-1 decision to Concordia-Moorhead on Thursday, March 7. The match was closer than the score showed, with two of the singles matches needed a third-set tiebreaker and another requiring a normal tiebreaker.

Adrian got its only point of the match at one doubles, where the duo of juniors Samantha Cyrus and Sara Anthony had an easy 8-1 victory. Cyrus stayed close in her singles match but lost in two sets, 6-7(5), 4-6. Anthony was also close at the three spot, forcing a third set but losing, 6-7(4), 6-4, 8-10. Fellow junior Makayla Jorgensen had the final close match for the Bulldogs, also forcing a third set but losing 6-4, 1-6, 1-10.

The Bulldogs now return to Michigan and will travel up to Aquinas next Saturday, March 16 for a 2 p.m. match with the Saints. The match will be played at the same time as the men's match at Aquinas.
