Women's Wrestling Comes Out Perfect at Tiffin

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Adrian College women's wrestling team had three big wins in duals on Saturday, Oct. 20 at Tiffin University.

The Bulldogs started off with a 42-6 win over Gannon, then followed it up with a 32-16 victory against Ferrum and concluded the day by beating host Tiffin 28-14.

"I'm proud of this young team and what they accomplished," said Head Coach Cliff Cushard. "I can't wait to see how they do for the rest of the season."

Six Adrian wrestlers went 3-0 on the day, including Alex Lividini, Alex Moseley, Shyann Ronning, Zoe Nowicki, MacKenzie Matta and Maggie Elliott. Angela Goldwire went 1-0 on the day.

Adrian only lost three individual matches all day and scored first in 11 of the 16 matches that were contested on the day.

Cushard said his team worked hard in the past week to improve from its first competition.

"Obviously the small adjustments they made and the experience they gathered made a difference," he said. "As a coach you love to see a team that learns and adapts."

The Bulldogs are off until Oct. 27 when they host the Adrian Women's Open at the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center at 10 a.m.
