CHARLOTTE, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's and women's cross country teams were in action Thursday night at Braodway Acres Golf Course for the Comet Invite hosted by Olivet College, where they got their first look at conference foes Olivet and Albion.
On the Men's Side:
Adrian started off the day with the men who had good performances by a young team. Junior Tim Bilen stepped up and led the way for Adrian, running 17:35 with freshman Matt Fletcher following behind in a time of 17:41, both personal bests all time on the cross country course for the 5k distance. Rounding out the top-three for the Bulldogs was freshman Elijah Dealca, who ran 18:20 which is a personal best as well at the 5k distance. Alec Grzegorek and Gavin Shelton also contributed to finish out the top-five for Adrian.
On the Women's Side:
The Adrian women were led by none other than Emme Koutz who looks to start off right where she left off at the end of last year running 19:44 to secure a top-ten finish on the day. Adrian also had good efforts from the freshman class, with Emma Frost (21:57), Hannah Smith (22:22), Ava Arnes (22:58), Elena Sands (23:21), and Sara Bower (23:29) following right behind Koutz to round out the top-five.
