ADRIAN, Mich. – The acrobatics and tumbling squad hosted their final home meet of the season on Saturday evening against Gannon University in a dual meet. The Golden Knights finished with a total of 256.360 points and defeated the Bulldogs who scored 227.255 for the evening.
The compulsory event kicked things off for both teams and Adrian scored well in the two middle heats. The Bulldogs had 8.45 points in the pyramid heat and 9.55 points in the toss heat. Gannon picked up a big advantage by scoring 7.20 in the acro heat and 7.35 in the tumbling heat. Adrian trailed 33.55-26.20 after one event.
In the acro event the teams competed for a total of 30 points. Gannon scored an impressive 28 while Adrian came up with 23.92. The six-element heat was the biggest difference in favor of Gannon (9.8-5.93). The final event of the first half featured the pyramid consisting of three heats. The Golden Knights scored no lower than 9.65 in the three heats. Adrian had a good showing with a total of 25.95 including a 9.05 in the twist heat. Adrian trailed 90.90-76.07 through the first three events.
The fourth event called toss was where Adrian had the closest margin in the meet. The Bulldogs scored 25.50 while Gannon scored 26.70 in the three heats. The Bulldogs scored 45.225 in the tumbling event and had a high score of 8.8 in the open pass. The Golden Knights had their highest score in the same heat with a 9.225.
The final team event saw both teams start with a 110-point value. Adrian scored 80.46 in the event while Gannon had 90.71. The total outcome saw Gannon getting the win by a shade over 29 points.
