NEWARK, Del.--Adrian College captured the bronze medal at the 2019 U.S. Intercollegiate Figure Skating Championships at the Fred Rust and Gold Ice Arenas on Sunday, completing a very successful 2018-19 campaign.
The Bulldogs were third out of 12 teams, beating Dartmouth, Sacred heart, UCSD, UCCS, Berkeley, UCLA, Miami-Ohio, Washington-St. Louis and Michigan. Host Delaware was one point out of first place. Adrian also won bronze in 2017 and '18.
The events included:
Freeskate--Excel High Beginner, Excel Pre-Preliminary, Excel Preliminary, Excel Preliminary Plus, Excel PreJuvenile, Excel Pre-Juvenile Plus, Excel Juvenile, Excel Juvenile Plus, Excel Intermediate, Excel Novice, Excel Junior, Junior Championship, Excel Senior, Senior Championship.
Short program--Juvenile, Intermediate, Novice Junior Senior.
Solo Dance--Preliminary, Juvenile, Intermediate, Novice, Junior, Senior, Gold.
International Solo Free Dance--Juvenile, Intermediate, Novice, Junior, Senior.
Team Maneuvers: Low, Intermediate, High.
Adrian's season also included seven consecutive Midwestern titles in as many seasons since the program's inception in 2013. The Bulldogs have also won the last 20 consecutive Midwestern competitions they have entered in the last six years.
