Bulldogs #26 in first Preseason Poll by Collegiate Baseball

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College Baseball team was recognized by Collegiate Baseball has the #26 team in their Preseason Poll for 2012. After finishing the 2011 campaign as the #25 team in the poll, Adrian graduated 10 very talented seniors including MIAA Pitcher of the Year David Partyka and MIAA Player of the Year Brian Bilius. Also, joining those two graduates were All-Conference selections Ryan Domschott, Jake Cappelletty, Joe Dubina and Nate Sarkissian. In 2011, the Bulldogs also captured their third straight MIAA title and fourth straight NCAA appearance.

"The Bulldogs are not looking to rebuild in 2012, but to reload and are honored that Collegiate Baseball feels the same," stated head coach Craig Rainey. The Bulldogs know they have a lot of work to do this year, with many new faces in the lineup. The pitching staff should help solidify the early season after posting the second-best ERA in NCAA Division III last year. Adrian College will be tested early as they take on #4 Christopher Newport and #24 Piedmont on their spring trip. Then they return north with trips to #13 Thomas More and #14 Heidleberg, before opening with MIAA foe Hope College. "Our preseason schedule is as challenging as you can find in D3 baseball, that is the way we like it, our guys will be ready for the challenge."
