Green, Fryman and Strawn Highlight All-Mideast Region Selections

Mideast Regional Teams

The Adrian College Bulldogs had another successful season on the diamond and five players have been named to the All-Mideast Region Teams for 2012.

Second baseman Garrett Green, starting pitcher Jason Fryman and outfielder Kyle Strawn all were named First Team All-Mideast Region. Outfielder Sam Fischer earned Second Team honors and starting pitcher Eric Schmidt was selected Third Team All-Mideast Region.

Green is batting .358 this season with 53 hits in 148 at-bats. He has scored 33 runs and collected 10 doubles, two home runs and 37 RBI's.

Fryman set a single-season school record for wins with a 11-1 record in 12 starts. He posted a 2.25 ERA and tossed seven complete games. Fryman threw 84 innings and allowed 67 hits with 76 strikeouts. Fryman's strikeout total ranks fourth-best in a season at Adrian College.

Strawn is hitting .417 this season in 42 starts for the Bulldogs. Strawn is 58-for-139 at the dish with 43 runs, 11 doubles, eight triples and four home runs. He drove in 29 runs and walked 17 times. Strawn has the sixth-best slugging percentage in single-season school history at .698. He also has tied the single-season school record with his eight triples.

Fischer batted leadoff most of the season and is batting .376 having started in all 46 games. Fischer has scored 43 runs and leads the team with 65 hits. His hit total is fourth-best in a season at AC. Fischer also leads the team with 16 stolen bases and walked 18 times.

Schmidt is currently 9-0 with a 2.26 ERA in 63.2 innings this season. He has made 10 starts and allowed 56 hits with 14 walks and 30 strikeouts.
