ALBION, Mich. – Eric Schmidt and Mike Schypinski dueled in game one on the mound on Saturday in a 3-2 Albion win and then the Bulldogs behind the arms of Brent Greenwood, Tommy Eng and Lucas Willitzer won 7-2 in game two.
Albion scored all of their runs in the second inning off Schmidt. Adrian scored single runs in the second and third innings. Schmidt finished with six innings worked allowing six hits and one earned run with two strikeouts. Schypinski allowed five hits over seven innings with one earned run and four strikeouts.
Mitch Stefanski went 2-for-2 with his third homer and two walks in game two. Sam Fischer had two hits in five at-bats. Andrew DeLuca scored a pair of runs and had his fourth double of the season. Dan Heatherly collected two hits in four at-bats with two RBI's. Adrian registered 11 hits in game two.
Greenwood went 4.2 innings and allowed five hits and one earned run. Eng threw 1.1 innings and struck out three. Willitzer threw the seventh and struck out one allowing one hit.
The two teams will play two more games on Sunday in Adrian at 1 p.m.
