ROYAL OAK, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Adrian infielder Mitch Stefanski its Position Player of the Week for games played through April 6.
Stefanski, a senior from Oxford (Oxford HS), hit .583 (7-for-12), with six of his hits going for extra bases, scored seven runs and drove in six as Adrian won three out of four in a weekend series with Hope to take over sole possession of first place in the MIAA. He went 4-for-5 with two doubles and a triple and scored four runs as Adrian won the series opener 13-7, then homered and drove in three runs in a 14-3 win to complete a doubleheader sweep. He also delivered a key RBI double in a game-winning, seventh-inning rally as the Bulldogs edged the Dutchmen 4-3 to take the series. Stefanski is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
