Bulldogs Ranked 25th in Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Preseason Poll

ADRIAN, Mich. - The winter weather is in full swing but that doesn't stop Collegiate Baseball Newspaper from announcing their NCAA Division III Preseason Poll. The Bulldogs check in No. 25 after another successful campaign which featured a trip to the NCAA Midwest Regional final. Adrian finished with a 33-15 record and also claimed Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association regular season and tournament titles in 2014. Adrian's opponent in the final game of the season and defending national champion Wisconsin-Whitewater holds down the top spot in the polls. Adrian also defeated Concordia-Chicago twice in the last year's region as the Cougars at No. 9. The Bulldogs will have an early season test as they start play at No. 19 Birmingham-Southern.

Adrian returns a pair of preseason award nominees in senior pitcher Eric Schmidt (Blissfield, Mich.) and sophomore shortstop Ryan Dorow (South Haven, Mich.). Schmidt missed time due to injury during the postseason run through the MIAA Tournament and NCAA Midwest Regional, but still managed to post a 7-0 record with a 3.16 ERA in 57 innings. He was named Second Team All-MIAA last year and has compiled 21 career wins. Dorow was named MIAA Position Player of the Year and National Freshman of the Year by D3Baseball.com in 2014. He batted .392 with 40 runs scored, 21 doubles, five home runs and 40 RBI.
