ROME, Ga. - It was a hitter's paradise on Saturday as the Adrian College baseball team collected 15 hits in a 15-5 win over Transylvania. The Bulldogs busted open a 2-1 deficit with nine runs in the top of the fifth and then added two runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh improving to 3-2 overall.
Jeff Gertley was a single short of the cycle with a double, triple and a grand slam home run in the contest. He scored three runs and drove in four more. Ryan Dorow slugged a pair of home runs with a solo shot in the fifth and a two-run blast in the seventh. Collin Parcher drove in the team's first run with a RBI groundout in the fourth. Transylvania took a 2-1 lead after four innings before Adrian scored nine times on six hits in the fifth. Gunnar Glodich had a RBI single in the fifth and Tommy Eng had a bases-loaded double which drove in three runs in the inning.
John Joseph drove in a run in the seventh on a RBI fielder's choice. Tommy Parsons got the win for the Bulldogs going six innings. He allowed four hits and three earned runs with a walk and five strikeouts. Collin Korte and Tyler Gnodtke each pitched a scoreless inning in relief. Drew Shutes finished 2-for-3 with a run scored and a double. Josh Knorr also had a double in two at-bats as a replacement in the lineup at left field.
