Middle of the Batting Order Powers @AdrianBaseball to 14-3 Non-Conference Win at Franklin College (Ind.)

FRANKLIN, Ind.—The Adrian College baseball team scored 12 runs over the final five innings, and sophomore Tommy Parsons scattered six hits in seven innings of work, as the visiting Bulldogs trounced Franklin College, 14-3, on Sunday.

= Junior Miccoy Drzewiecki paced the offense by going 4-for-5 at the plate, with three runs scored and three runs batted in. Drzewiecki ripped three doubles and a triple.

= Senior Jeff Gertley had two hits, including a double, three runs scored and three RBI.

= Junior Ryan Dorow went 3-for-4 with three runs and two walks.
= Parsons improved to 2-1 on the season, allowing three runs in seven innings. He struck out four batters and issued one walk.
= The Bulldogs, who never trailed, took a 2-0 lead after a double-steal of home and a fielding error in the top of the second inning.

= Adrian tacked on four runs in the fifth to go up 6-0. Gertley and Drzewiecki hit back-to-back doubles to spark the inning.

=Franklin got on the scoreboard with three runs in the bottom of the sixth. Frank Podkul homered, Mitch Schuman scored on an error, and Joe Ardizzone singled home the host's final run.

= Adrian had an immediate response with three more runs of its own in the next half inning. Junior Brian Killinger (2 hits) sent a sacrifice fly to right field, senior Matt Andrus had a sacrifice bunt to knock in a run, and senior Collin Parcher walked with the bases loaded.

= The Bulldogs outhit the Grizzlies, 12-7.

= Mitchell Moore went 2-for-4 and Tanner Nicholson had a double.

= Adrian won its seventh meeting in a row over the Grizzlies and now lead the all-time series that started in 1999, 13-6. The Bulldogs are 12-6 at Franklin.

Drzewiecki tied his career high with four hits and set a personal record with three doubles in a game. He now tops the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association with six doubles.

= For the second game in a row, the Bulldog batters drew double-digit walks with 11. On Saturday, Capital pitching issued 12 walks.

= The Bulldogs continue the non-conference circuit on Wednesday at Otterbein University—their second opponent out of the Ohio Athletic Conference in four days--in Westerville, Ohio. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
