FREELAND, Mich.--Junior shortstop Ryan Dorow (South Haven High School) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, it was announced by the conference on Monday.
This marks the second time in three weeks that an Adrian College student-athlete has earned the MIAA position player weekly honor, as Dakota Cararo was selected on April 4.
Dorow had a slashline of .475/.543/.700 at the plate and a slick .981 fielding percentage on 52 total chances while helping the Bulldogs to an 8-1 week. He scored 12 times, had 19 hits including three home runs and 12 runs batted in to help Adrian take sole possession of first place after sweeping four-game series from MIAA opponents Calvin and Alma (received votes in last two D3baseball Top-25 polls).
For the season, Dorow currently owns a 16-game hitting streak to raise his average 60 points to a season-high .398 to rank fifth in the MIAA. He also is first with 40 RBI, first with 72 total bases, first with 45 hits, second with seven homers and third with a .637 slugging percentage.
