@AdrianBaseball Runs Win Streak to Eight Games Before Splitting MIAA Twinbill with Visiting Albion

ADRIAN, Mich.--The Adrian College baseball team pounded 13 hits and walked eight times in Game 1 to run its season's best winning streak to eight games in a 15-10 win before Albion College gained a split in the nightcap, 7-4, to conclude their Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association doubleheader on Sunday.

THE BASICS

FOR ADRIAN
= Junior Ian Mikowski went 4-for-6 with three walks, four runs scored and three runs batted in during the doubleheader.

= Classmate Ryan Dorow was 4-for-7 with two walks, three runs and four RBI.

THE OPPOSITION
Michael Fischbach went 5-for-8, including a triple and home run, and he drove in three runs on the day.

Steven Marowski had two hits in each contest and had four RBI in the opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME ONE
= Adrian erased a 7-6 deficit with seven runs in the bottom of the fifth, capping a rally in which the Bulldogs trailed 7-3 after 3-1/2 innings. Mikowski tied it 7-7 with a RBI-double down the right field line, and Dorow hit a two-run single up the middle to put Adrian ahead to stay.

= After a scoreless opening frame, Adrian took a 2-0 lead in the second on Mikowski's bases loaded walk and a Josh Knorr single up the middle for another run.

= Both teams scored in the next inning. Fischbach homered to right field with a man aboard to tie it 2-all before senior Matt Andrus hit into a double play that made it 3-2 Adrian.

= Albion scored five times in the fourth to take its first lead on the weekend, 7-6. Joe Turnbull hit a RBI-single to right field, Jack Wyman singled through the left side for a RBI, Fischbach singled at the same spot to bring in another run, and Marowski capped it with a two-run single.

= Junior Zach Dunn (3-0) got the win after pitching 3-1/3 innings of relief. He scattered six hits, walked one, gave up three runs (2 earned) and struck out four.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME TWO
= The Bulldogs didn't help themselves by committing four errors that led to three of the Britons' seven runs being unearned. 

= In the top of the fifth inning, Ronnie Williams singled to right field to break a 4-4 tie and Albion added an insurance run in each of the sixth and eighth.

Logan Priebe led Albion's 12-hit attack with three singles and an RBI.

= Adrian junior Brian Killinger went 2-for-4, including a lead-off home run in the third to spark a three-run frame for the Bulldogs to knot the score at 4-all.

= Wyman (2-0) started on the mound and got the win, laboring through five innings. Matt Temrowski earned his first save, working four scoreless innings in which he allowed four hits and no walks with three strikeouts.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
Dorow extended his hitting streak to 21 games, improving his batting average to .420.

= Mikowski now has an 18-game hit streak and matches Dorow with a .420 clip.

= Adrian used a season-high eight pitchers in the second game.

= Adrian will host Trine on Friday (2/4:30 p.m.) to begin a key four-game MIAA series, then the Thunder entertain the Bulldogs on Saturday (1/3:30 p.m.)
