Junior Ian Mikowski Tabbed MIAA Player of the Week for First Time in Career

FREELAND, Mich.--Adrian College junior outfielder Ian Mikowski (Grand Rapids/Northview High School) has been named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Baseball Player of the Week for the first time in his career, it was announced on Monday.

Setting the tone at the top of the Bulldogs' lineup, Mikowskii led the offense with a slashline of .667/.762/.933, five walks, nine runs scored and tied for the team lead with eight runs batted in.

Currently, Mikowski is on an 18-game hitting streak that has seen his batting average rise to .420, tying for the Adrian lead. The sports management major also leads the team with a streak of 26 games reaching base safely, the MIAA with 20 stolen bases, 44 runs scored and 32 walks, and tops the Bulldogs with a co-leading 16 multiple-hit games.

Adrian went 4-1 during the last seven-day period ending Sunday.
