Junior Second Baseman Brian Killinger Earns First MIAA Player of the Week Nod

FREELAND, Mich.--Adrian College baseball student-athlete Brian Killinger (Grand Rapids/Northview High School) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, it was announced by the MIAA on Monday.

The junior second baseman posted an impressive slashline of .750/.778/1.125 from the No. 9 spot in the batting order, while helping the Bulldogs take three games from conference opponent Trine, 2-1 and 9-2 on Friday and 7-1 on Saturday. He led the team with six hits including two multi-hit games, scored three runs and knocked in two more. He also was perfect defensively on 12 total fielding chances.

For the season, the athletic training major is having a career year with a .314 batting average, two home runs, 11 runs batted in, 27 runs scored, 14 walks, eight stolen bases, .407 on-base average and .412 slugging.

Adrian returns to action at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday against Trine in Angola, Ind., and then the Bulldogs host Hope for Senior Day on Friday (2/4:30 p.m.) at Nicolay Field.
